First Time burning DVD-need help

I've just recently started burning dvds using Deep burner and DVD shrink. I do a full back up onto my hard drive, but then I get stuck in the burning process. When I open Deep burner and try to burn it there is nothing in my dvd files (they aren't Deep burner files or something). But when I want to watch them the files are there. Did i miss a step or somthing?

hope i'm not breaking any rules

The files are usually VOB files, try making a new folder and backing them up to that folder with Shrink.

What I usally do is make it an ISO with DVDShrink then just burn. You can also burn with the new DVDShrink but I believe you have to have nero installed.

Different format - like the difference between VHS and Beta.
