Lindows, the scrappy vendor of Linux-based operating systems for bare-bones PCs, is looking for a new moniker. Lindows founder Michael Robertson said Tuesday his company will change its name under enormous pressure by Microsoft. Microsoft has sued Lindows saying the name is too close to its Windows brand and violates its trademarks. On Friday, a Seattle federal judge denied Lindows' motion to stop Microsoft from pursuing international lawsuits against the Linux company. Microsoft had won injunctions against Lindows in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg, but the Seattle judge said U.S. courts don't have jurisdiction to challenge those decisions.

I saw this at Slashdot earlier:

"...the Seattle Times reports that they 'would not continue a worldwide legal battle with Microsoft.' They will announce the new name next Wednesday, although a favorite is Lindos -- 'because it's the W that is causing all the problems'."

Ah yes - but M$ does not have an exclusive on DOS! That's strictly an acronym for Disk Operating System. Ever notice when you make a self-booting diagnostic disk - such as the WD Data Lifeguard Tools, it boots up with Caldera DOS?
