File might be causing problems; but cant delete it
I've just recently scanned my comp with ad-aware to check for any spyware, and it says that it has found one, a folder called NewDotNet. Now when I try and delete this file an error message pops up saying that access is denied; I am not authorized to do this
make sure the file is not protected or running; some thing like that. And at around the same time my internet's been acting up, and i think it's this file that's causing it but I can't get rid of it. anyone know how I can delete it? thanks |

It's probably running in the background. Find the name of the file, ctrl+alt+del and see if it's in there. If it is, just end the task and continue as you were.

You can also try doing this in SafeMode.

You may actually have to re-install it to get rid of it. Last edited by morriswindgate; 04-07-2004 at 07:29 PM. |

do a Google search for a program called MoveOnBoot. it allows you to delete files that say they are in use.

If you use Spybot Search & Destroy, it will tell you the same thing. However, it will ask you if you want Spybot to run on next reboot, and when you do this, Spybot will kick in before anything else loads and remove it for you.

Thanks again everyone, and thanks for the link morriswindgate, I was able to get rid of New.Net with the info I found there.
However, it doesn't seem to be New.net that is messing with my internet |
