Unless you have a password I doubt it.(unless you spend a couple hundred years decrypting it )

If it's a file that you downloaded from a website, try using the URL as the password. So for example you download file_x.rar from PCMech, try "www.pcmech.com" (w/o quotes) as the password.

Good call bigandy, very slick work
mdf and mds are basically iso files for a couple of burning programs, notably Alcohol 120%, CloneCD and PhantomCD
The way to access them is to download WinISO, open the image file and extract contents to desired location. Otherwise you can download Alcohol 120%, let it create a virtual drive and mount any cd-image file format. Then you can simply extract, run, play the contents, as desired.

No idea what it is, from it's size it's obviously some kind of image file, though 3GB seems a little ridiculous
What is this file/program you're trying to extract??

Microsoft can find what programs are needed to open files if you type the extension into MS Corp website not the msn one.
