Recording a Song

This is kinda random since this is a computer forum but I couldn't think of who else to ask.

I'm trying to record a song and everything is fine except the vocal. I have to music seperate from the vocal. The music is made with Fruit Loops and the Vocal is recorded with Goldwave. I'm wondering why the vocal seems to be so off and seperate from the music. (you notice a small difference and can tell it was recorded seperately) It might be the mic and the quality of sound but I don't think it is. I want to integrate them smoothly. Any ideas?

How is it off? Is it the key that's off or the timing of the voice and music?
