DVD ripping software
Does anyone know of any good DVD ripping freeware?
No worries- I'm not planning on file sharing. I just want to put my DVDs on my hd for easy access. |

http://www.mrbass.org/dvdshrink/
This will decrypt, shrink, allow you to reauthor and copy the movie to your HDD. |

Another vote for dvdshrink.
Although dvd decrypter, dvdxcopy, clonedvd and others do work, I have found dvdshrink the easiest and also free. Some of the others are not. Check this out: http://www.videohelp.com/tools?tools...+or+List+tools |

Both of the popular ones, DVD shrink and DVD Decryptor are working well.
In my search through the link reboot supplied, I also found a decent freeware encoder, Vidomi. Anyone have any thoughts on freeware encoders? |

Vidomi...no comment.
Free encoders are generally tediously slow, with questionable results. The exceptions being EclCCE in conjunction with dvd2svcd, which also does avi to dvd, avi to (S)vcd, dvd to dvd, dvd to (S)vcd Look for it on that link, 5th one down....and tmpgenc free version 12b, available from http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/do...s/tmpgenc.html One other option is http://members.home.nl/thefilmmachine/ , which comes complete with all software needed. |
