Outlook2000 causing errors

I have Outlook 2000 running on WinXP Pro - both fully updated at Windows update site.

The PC has been scanned online and by my fully up to date Norton and no viruses were found.

If I open Outlook it launches an error message after only about a minute saying it needs to close, the strange thing is that if I move the error message window out of the way, Outlook works perfectly!
If I close the error message it closes Outlook.

Anyone come across something like this before?

TIA

I'm betting that norton is causeing the problem and not outlook 2k

I been useing out2k for too many years on many differant systems and have never seen or heard of any kind of problems with it.
but norton on the other hand has the reputation of causeing more problems than it fixes.

Thanks for the replies.

bailey - I scanned with Norton on a different PC - the PC with the Outlook problem doesn't have Norton installed.

LiVeWiRe - the message says:

Error signature

AppName: outlook.exe
AppVer: 9.0.0.6604
ModName: fldpub.dll
ModVer: 9.0.3425.0
Offset: 00029435

magicdog,

The 'fldpub.dll' points to an issue with Net Folders in Outlook. Do you have this feature installed or in use with your Outlook 2K setup?

Hi all sorry for the delay

Seems you may be on to something LiVeWiRe - I've disabled Net Folders and, so far, so good!

Thanks
