IP's... my dads worried...
can somone just check me on this: ip's are pretty much useless to hackers. my dad is nervous about ip's being publically available...

No, IP's are far from useless, but if you are adequately firewalled and secured, it won't make much difference. IP's are *necessary* for the Internet to even work.

as long as your useing a firewall, eather a software or a router, the outside internet cannot even see your computer.
for a broadband connection I always recommend a router as it is a hardware firewall and your system is invisable to the outside world. |
