Best way to multiboot
I want to make a multiboot system with the following OS's for self education purposes and just to play with. This would all be on a 40gb HDD.
Dos 6.22 - 1gb partition Win 3.1 - 1 gb partition Win 95 - 3gb partition Win 98se - 5gb partition win2kpro - 10gb partition WinXPpro - 10gb partition (to be added later when i have $$) Mandrake linux v 9.2 (i think) - 10gb partition i have never done anything with dual or multiboot so i guess mostly i want to know what the best way to do this is TIA for any help, Sean |

Just install each O/S in order of oldest to newest, and mandrake last.

If you are using that many operating systems, it will probably be a lot better to use a 3rd party boot manager.

Some of your choices are not required. You can have DOS, Win31, and Win95 on the same partition with no interference.
Same with DOS,Win31, and Win98. I have DOS,3.1 capability, and 98 on 1 partition, 2K on the 2nd, and home on the 3rd. Haven't put the 3.1 on since it is available on another system. I use partition magic and the included boot magic. |
