How do I get rid of 4 brackets on the corners of Word?

How do they get there?

your looking at the print preview.
there ther to show you where the borders are located.
I don't think they will print.

are they still there in the normal view
or the page view ?

Tools>Options>View uncheck "Text Boundaries" under Print and Web Layout Options.

Those show what your margins are set at. They don't print and there is no reason to remove them unless they really annoy you.

The Tools>Options>View uncheck "Text Boundaries" under Print and Web Layout Options refers to additional lines. I tried unchecking others but to no avail. They don't print alright but I still want to get them out. I will keep uncheking until I find it. Thanks.

Hiho's right, they're just margin indicators. I have them on my computer at work which has word 97, and not on my computer at home, which has word xp. I haven't figured out how to turn them on or off, but it doesn't really make a diff to me...
