Question Curious Jasc Problem

I have been evaluating the Jasc Software products Paint Shop Pro 8 and Paint Shop Photo Album 5. I really like both apps, certainly the price is right compared to the similar Adobe products. But I have a problem with the way Photo Album 5 runs. It will consume 50 and 60 percent of the CPU for prolonged times (I’m talking about 15 or 20 minutes) for no apparent reason. That’s when it isn’t even being used; minimize yes, but not being used at all.

I have Emailed Jasc, used TUT and Emailed them as well. Has anyone else had a similar experience with this product?

PSP 8 is a great product and is proven. Photo Album 4 was also pretty darn good. PA 5, however, was just released in the last week or so (it was still in BETA tesing a couple of weeks ago) and I've not upgraded yet, nor did I try out the BETA version I downloaded. The time delay seems way too long and didn't exist in prior versions. It may be just building a database of all the stuff you have, or it may be a bug. I would look on a regular basis for any updates or patches as Jasc is pretty good about posting them.

TwoRails,
I thought that it might have been building a DB, but in the lenght of time it has consumed, it should be through by now. I checked last night late for any updates to the ver 5 but there were none. I think I'll look to see if the Ver 4 is still available for download on a trial basis. Bet I know the answer. Thanks for the info. Except for this clitch, they have sold me on both.
