Lite On CD-RW drive software question

Hello I purchased a Lite On external CD-RW drive from Newegg. It was supposed to have Nero with it. It did not.I called them and they sent me a CD called PowerDVD 5. by Cyber link. Anyone know anything about this software. I do not want to install somthing that I am not going to use.

Thanks for any help !!!!

Well. . it's just the most popular software DVD player. . nothing else. . .

PowerDVD

PowerDVD comes bundled with DVD drives, so they gave you the wrong software.

power dvd is for watching movies, and nero is for burnning cd's

Careful. The PowerDVD suite includes a dvd authoring/burning application as well. This may be the disk they sent.

You have to connect an audio cable from the jack on the drive to your sound card input.

The light bulb just came on..............you have another thread going.

That drive is supposed to ship with Nero Express, not PowerDVD. You need the exact CD - this will most likely take care of your 98SE driver issue. I'd RMA the whole drive if they can't come up with the right CD.
