I could be way off base but trying to help clear this up for anyone.
Are you trying to take a sentence and then make it wrap around a circle, for example if you print it it might go around a CD or DVD?

well I am close but not quite.
in MS word, view toolbars, then Word art. I found the circle but it is grayed out for me. Not sure how to make it work. Maybe this will help. |

You're on the right track...go to Insert and scroll down to 'Picture' and then select 'Word Art' (or you can just click on the 'A' on the Word Art toolbar that appears in the step that Byte 2.0 outlined).
You have to choose one of those in order to get the shapes to work. Not sure if you'll be able to get exactly what you're looking for but maybe something close. HTH, -LW |

Right:
1) Create your sentence using WordArt. 2) Select View>Toolbars>WordArt to activate the WordArt toolbar. 3) Select the WordArt sentence you just made. 4) On the WordArt toolbar, click the "WordArt Shapes" button (looks like "Abc" in an arc shape, and is next to the Format WordArt button) to bring up the pullout containing the gallery of possible shapes (it will not be grayed out this time, as it was for Byte 2.0). 5) Click the circle shape (3rd from left, second row). Voila, your WordArt is now a circle. Just click and drag the drag handle on the bottom to size the circle any way you want. Tips: 1) To expand the circle equally in all directions at the same time, hold down CTRL and drag on any one of the drag handles. 2) To rotate the object about its centre in 15 degree steps, press and hold SHIFT and drag the rotate handle. To rotate the object about an edge, hold down CTRL and drag the rotate handle.
