Ms access database ?
I want to build a database in msaccess for keeping inventory control. I'm kind of stuck because I can;t figure out how to do it.
I need it to be capable of feeding it with items and then come out with products. For example I want to sell PC's but want to keep track of all the components for the different models I assemble. Can anyone guide me in the right direction, I just need either a sample database like teh one I need or a place where I can get the info. thanks |

I am not saying this to be taken in the wrong way, but doing my best to help.
access is a program that has so many capicables and power that it is taught in college courses. the4 best thing you can do for your self would be to go the your favorite book store and get some trainning manuals on how to run it, I don't think it is going to be something you can learn over a week end. that is something I need to do also look for more post on your question from others that may be able to help you more. |

I have Access. It came with Office XP but I have never needed it. I have tried to figure some things out in it but I have never gotten anywhere.

MS Access comes with a variety of database templates that you can use. One of them is an Inventory Control Database that you can customize to your needs.
In MS Access XP, go to File>New to open the Task Pane and click on General Templates>Databases>Inventory Control to open the wizard, which will help you create your new database and fill in all the fields and info you want. In Access 2000 just click File>New to bring up the template selection window. Or you could click Start>New Office Document(In Windows XP, Start>All Programs>New Office Document)>Databases>Inventory Control. This should get you started. I am sure the many gurus on these forums can help you with further customization. Oh, and read the Access Help files. They are very informative. |

Thanks for your help,
I've desiigned different DB, but all pretty much the same. Basically the same stuff that goes in goes out. On this other one that i need to design, I will feed it parts and come out with products. And that's what i can;t figure out how to do. |
