Shortcut won't work

We have Ad-aware 6.0 installed on our computer, and it was first installed onto my mum's desktop. In order for me to activate it on my desktop I have to search for it on the system and then double-click the application's icon. Now surely each time I wanted to run it I shouldn't have to search for it. So I dragged the application icon onto my desktop and then double-clicked it, it sayed the application didn't start properly because "A required .DLL file, AAWHELPER.DLL, was not found" any reason for this?

TIA

did you say you moved the executable out of the original folder? If you did that might be it. You would need to make a shortcut and use that.

The executable already showed up in the search box. I dragged that and made a dublicate shortcut.

Send a message via MSN to doctorgonzo
Are you sure you have a shortcut on the desktop? It sounds like you dragged the EXE file itself onto the destop. Right-click on the icon, select "Properties," and make sure it is really a shortcut.

Yep, it's an application alright. But it still comes up with that error message.

**edit** When I clicked on Properties from the drop-down box, the description said "Ad-aware 6 core application"

Thats your problem, the application should always stay in its root folder(C:\Program Files\Lavasoft\Ad-aware 6). Put it back and make a shortcut.
