Can't uninstall/install Nero Express
My Nero Express somehow got corrupted so I am trying to reinstall it. Whenever I put the CD in, it starts to install and then stops and a window comes up saying that there is an older version of Nero on the computer and I have to uninstall that before continuing with the installation. I have two choices on the window, remove and cancell. I select remove and the Nero install window states that the Nero install was interrupted and I need to try to install again. When I click exit it asks if I want to reboot my computer now. Click yes. Start install all over again and I get the same message. This time I exit and I remove Nero from the add/remove programs in control panel. I try to install again and get the same message. This time I do search for Nero and delete everything it finds. Try to install again, same message, an older version was found on the computer and I have to remove it. I delelte all nero files from my Powerquest back up utility and I shut off system restore (windows xp) thinking perhaps it it finding the nero backups in there. Aagin same message. I do another search and it finds no Nero files, back up utility and system restore are off but the Nero Express installation is still telling me that there is an older version on the computer.
Anyone have any experience with Nero and this before, or does anyone have any idea where there may be some hidden files stored that are being seen by the installation disk. This is becomming very frustrating. I like Nero, It is very user friendly, But I am thinking of installing Roxio just so I can write to CD's.

Thanks GLC. So Far I only got to try the combination General Cleaner and Registry checker, with no luck. I get the same response. I am going to try some other cleaners, but now that you provided a link for their site, I may just write them with my problem.
