unlicensed software
Hi,
I just recently recieved 2 copies of windows XP Pro and 1 copy of office 2003. They came in cd sleeves with the product key on them. My mother-in-law works at a college and the IT department was offering these for $1.99 for Windows and $2.99 for office. These copies are legit, but on the sleeve it also says UNLICENSED SOFTWARE- Illegal without seperate license from Microsoft. My question is has anyone had any experience with this? any problems installing them or updating them? I don't want to upgrade until I'm sure there will be no problems. Thanks. |

You are not allowed to install them until you purchase a lisence from Micro$oft. As for whether they'll work without one, I don't think we can discuss that here.

They'll work perfectly for 30 days, and then XP will go into a boot loop, until you activate.
