Outlook 2002 pst file - no permission to import file
I am reformatted a problematic win2k machine, before doing this I exported everything in pst files from the outlook and saved them on cd.
I have now reformatted and reinstalled outlook and wanting to import the saved files of the inbox, sent items calendar etc but when i try to browse, select and import the file it tells me: File access denied. You do not have the permission required to access the file c: blah blah I have tried accessing the properties of the file and changing the permissions to 'everyone' all access, but no change. HELP. there alot of important stuff i need and am screwed without them. Is there a resolution? thanks |

wintomato,
Check to see if the PST file is marked 'Read Only'...IF it is, then that is the likely cause of the problem. Remove the 'Read Only' attribute and then try importing the file into Outlook. HTH, -LW |

You may have to go into the "Advanced" area of the permissions and take ownership of the file.
