I have Toshiba 2455-S305 and cannot locate where I install a newly purchased mini-pci card. Unfortunately, there is no specific panel on the bottom of the laptop for the card to go. I believe I am going to have to take the whole laptop apart - scary proposition. Does anyone know where the min-pci wireless card is installed on this laptop? If not, do you know where I can find an internal diagram of my laptop?

I don't know where you bought this card, but I would think it should come with some kind of instructions, if not you might try cintacting the person you got it from for the instructions.
also I have never heard of any kind of manual avaible for serviceing a loptop at all, I think they want you to take it to there service center for repaires. some basic repaires you can do your self, but what you need I dought that there will be much information on the web for that. I have a limted amout of service experience on laptops and thus far have never seen one with a pci slot. are you sure that the card you have is ment for the laptop ? |

MINI-PCI Cards on Laptops
Many new laptops have a wirleless LAN integrated into the machine. The monitor acts as the antenna (it has two wires that run through the monitor). My laptop comes enabled with the antennas built in - but I needed to purchase the mini-pci card. I have it but cant find where on my laptop it is inserted. The install directions show a diagram of another compatible laptop but not mine - so the pictures dont match.

Are you sure it works in a laptop?
Most "mini" cards go in slim/small desktops.... |

See the link below. Almost all new laptops have what are called mini-pci cards. They are also referred to as integrated wireless lan. - For LAPTOPS!

i'm pretty sure its internal and you will have to open your lap top up to put it in. However i've never done this.

I have Toshiba Satellite 2410 laptop. A friend of mine gave me an Intel mini pci wifi card that requires the laptop to be already antenna wired and ready. I openned the panel directly below where the Ram Dimm slots and found the mini pci slot for such card with the two antenna wires taped down ready for connecting to the card. The card fits in the slot no probs and the black wire(main) snaps on easy, but one glich...the white wire(aux.) is too short and won't reach the aux. snap on connector. Nobody seems to know what I'm talking about at computer stores or they don't carry the cards. I want to know if the white wire really needs to be connected or is it just aux.? I know this wasn't your question, but I hope it helps you find your pci slot. Does anyone know about the internal antenna wires?

Pozi. This thread is two years old, you should have started your own thread, but in the mean time maybe this site will help you.
