Palm PDA: Bluetooth and Applications
Two weeks ago, I bought a new Palm Tungsten E2. Its specs are as found here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16858101135
I would like to get on the internet with it from my bed (approx 8 feet from my computer), and since the Palm has bluetooth integrated into it, I thought I would use it to connect to my wireless network. Little did I know - bluetooth and 802.11b standards aren't the same. So, being the smart one, I buy a bluetooth adapter from newegg (Linksys: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16833124143 ) and I've set it up on my PC. The PDA seems the computer, and the computer sees the PDA in "My Bluetooth Places" - but they can not seem to communicate correctly. I tried setting up ICS as per instructions, but that doesn't work (I probably don't have it set up right, I'm new to this handheld stuff). Any suggestions? At this point, you may be wondering why the heck I didn't just pay $60 more and get the 802.11B adapter for the PDA. I'm wondering the same thing myself. Next, if we get the internet working properly via bluetooth, I'd like to be able to chat with friends on AIM and if possible, IRC. I've been looking around, and I can't seem to find any free programs to do it. AIM official has a "PDA AIM" version, but it's $20. I'd really prefer not to support AOL's budget for commercials, so I'm really looking for a free alternative. I will pay a small amount as required though, to get something that works well (and if I were to pay, I'd prefer it integrate IRC with it.) Any suggestions here? Thanks guys.

Bluetooth issues fixed, however - anyone have any ideas on the second software?
