Pocket PCs
Hello:
Is there such an animal as a Pocket PC that is around $200-300 USD Retail that supports 802.11b. I've been looking and looking and 450+ seems to be the going rate. I'm looking for something that will run Outlook and 802.11b. I'd even be ok with an adaptor, but would rather have it built in if possible. I purchased a used one for $200 on ebay had it for a year and a half and it finally went kaput (After a lot of issues I was going to kaput it myself soon anyway!), so now I'm on the market for a new one. This time I'm going to pay extra and get a brandnew one. thanks, klutz

Hello:
I've narrowed down my search a bit. I found a brand and a model. It's a Toshiba e800, but it comes in two flavors: Wifi and bluetooth. I want wifi, but all I can find a is bluetooth. I can't even find a part number so I know which is which. I do know that the Wifi enabled version weights more. The other thing I'm wondering is if this item was just released or just realeads for the UK and AUS. Those seem to be the only models shipping. If it comes down to it I can get a CF Wifi card I guess. klutz |

Toshiba pulled out of the US PDA businss, I think. Luckily, Dell's Axim X50 features both WiFi and Bluetooth and is often discounted. One of my co-workers got the X50v (the version with the 640x480 screen) for $297.

Hello:
Thanks all for your input. I've been looking heavily at the ASUS MyPal A716. It has everything I want. Good battery life, Wifi, Bluetooth, can run all the buisness stuff, and game. I've been looking at the new VGA screens, while they look nice, they can suck down the juice pretty heavily. The old style screen doesn't bother so bad as to not want us it. thanks again, klutz |

Hello:
I was wondering if my ppc can stream audio and/or video off of a computer on my network. I've download a couple of free trials of network browser, while these two different softwars allowed me to locate what I was looking for, I was unable to to "stream" them. I currently don't have a memory card, but plan to get one soon. The other question I have is if anyone has any suggestions for a good freeware internet browser. I'm currently just using the one that came standard with the ppc. thanks agian, klutz |
