how long does it take to charge a battery?
how long does it take to charge a laptop battery
 , I have beencharging the battery through the computer for 4 to 5 hrs now. the front panel light for the battery is still yellow  .

Open Control Panel and look in the POWER icon. You should find a tab that shows a bar graph and how what the charge percentage is.

it depends...when you 1st get a laptop the recommendation is a 12 hour charge...ditto if you are attempting to "recondition" the battery...
