Is it safe for notebooks?

I have a brand new presario v2000 notebook, and I wonder is it safe when we recharge the battery and unplug it when it's already full while we're using the notebook (the notebook is running on AC power instead of battery)? I mean, won't it do any bad effect to the battery at all?
I'm assuming that when we're turning on the notebook while the AC power is connected and the battery is full, the notebook is automatically choosing its power supply to the AC power, so it won't recharge the battery anymore. Is that true?
Thanks

I think he's asking whether it's safe to take out the battery while the laptop is plugged in. The answer is yes, and in fact this may help to conserve the battery capacity over the life of the laptop.

If your notebook will run on AC with the battery removed, go for it. This very well may extend the useable life of the battery. Not all will do this, however.

Thanks guys Anyway, what if: Battery is low, I turn my laptop on, I plug the charger in, I play with the laptop, then the battery is full (charging LED indicator off, and windows' taskbar indicator says "running on AC power"), I keep playing the laptop all day long with the charger on (the battery's not removed) until I shut down the laptop.
Would that be harm for the battery, or even the system?
Thx again

It wouldn't hurt the system at all. You might go through an additional charge cycle or two with the battery, though, thus lessening its lifespan.
