dead laptop, any ideas?

ive got an older laptop that won't start anymore, when i press the on button it doesnt show any signs of life. plugged into the wall with and without battery does nothing, i even bought a new battery and tried that and still nothing. anyone think this is a fixable?

Might want to mention the make & model number.

Is there by any chance a small reset buttom on the bottom of it?

Might just be a faulty AC adapter. Could be a broken power socket. SOME light should come on when you plug the adapter in, showing the presence of power or battery charging.

If you put a new precharged battery in and nothing happens with or without the AC adapter plugged in, I'd say the laptop internals are shot.
