I have a satellite 1805-s203 and need a new restore disk.
orig was lost and toshiba no longer supports it. orig os was Me. i use 98 on other machines Me is to flakey, i just wanna get it to work again had viruses and corrupyt restore partition so i ran fdisk tried to do clean install no good found restore disks from DML(digital media library)they dont work i keep getting application error, img file corrupt asked for new disks not here yet wondering if this could be caused by lack of memory?any one have original disks need copy ,sources for others ?, any help would be appreciated im ready to toss this thing but it is wifes 'puter and she wants it fixed. any way thanks for your help. |

There should still be drivers for that laptop on Toshiba's web site. I downloaded video drivers for an older 440 Satillite running Win95 a couple of weeks ago.

That laptop runs XP like a champ. You may want to get an XP Home upgrade and just install that -- beats the hell out of 98 or Me. You will probably also want to get a 128MB or 256 MB RAM stick from crucial.com and pop that in if you go the XP route. If you don't feel like buying the RAM, you can buy a copy of Windows 2000 off of eBay and download the drivers from Toshiba's site. Either way I think you will be much happier than you would be with 98 or Me.
