iPod Headphones
Hi all,
I'm looking for some replacement headphones for my iPod since the ones that come with the player are average at best. Does anyone have any suggestions for some replacement headphones that won't break the bank? I know among other companies Sennheiser makes a pair headphones for the iPod, has anyone seen these? Thanks in advance for the help. |

What kind are you looking for? Those tiny nubs like with the iPod, or regular headphones?
If the ladder, there's this pair made by Koss for about $14 that I picked up at walmart. The downside is that the earmuffs wear out after a while.

Hi Force,
I'm not really sure at this point, but I'm starting to shy away from the earbuds, unless there is a pair that can really trump what the iPod comes with. So far I've looked at the Sennheiser PX-100's which are a compact headset, but apparently sound very good. Has anyone had any experience with these? Thanks again. |

Shure E3c or E4c. They're expensive but well worth the money. Etymotic er4's get excellent reviews but I don't have those.

I'd go lower end than the Shure E3C or the Etymotic ER-4 and get the Shure E2C or the Etymotic ER-6. I have a pair of E2Cs and they have very good sound.

I just got an ipod (turns out those free ipod things actually do work) so now I'm in the same boat as you. The headphones it came with really don't cut it.
Which pair did you decided on? Thanks. |

You know, I actually decided to go down a different avenue completely. Since I'll be taking a long overseas trip in January I'm looking at a pair of noise cancelling headphones from Sennheiser right now, the PXC 300. Less than one half the price as the Bose, and from what I've read, apparently just as good. So I'm probably going to go with those. I also read yesterday that earbuds (like the ones that come with the iPod) are not very good for your ears. Headphones that cover your ear completely are supposed to be better. Of course I realize that no headphone is really better than another unless you turn down the volume.

I think I read the same article (in Rolling Stone?) about different types of headphones and ear health. Very interesting..
Either way, thanks for the response. I'll have to check out that pair you mentioned. |

Those Sennheisers aren't just as good as Bose... They're better! I hate to see people spend money on the Bose name thinking they're getting the best. They are far from it. The Sennheisers are an excellent choice. Happy listening.
