Need Advise on New LAptop.

Im needing a laptop for my next semester in school(programming classes, mostly VB.NET). No gaming for me(have my xbox 360 for that ). The only program I will be running, other than the basic's(surfing, word processing, email) will be VB.NET.

I see Dell has the B120 for with the Celeron M 1.4Ghz, and the B130 with the Pentium M 1.7Ghz. Everything else is the same(512 MB DDR SDRAM, 40 gig HD, Wireless card and intel acclerator 900 graphics card).

I need advise one which one would be the best for what im going to be using it for. BTW Dell has a 100$ rebate on the Celeron M B120 right now, so it would be $200 price difference in the two models.(549$ including tax and shipping for the Celeron M and 749$ including tax and shipping for the Pentium M)

Is that upgrade really worth 200$?

Any advise would greatly be appreciated. Im going to be ordering real soon, tommororw probably; one of those laptops.

Thanks
Derek

Well, firstly let me start by saying that you could probebly get a better deal at a local computer shop, but if we take the same situation, no its not worth the price, since youre not going to play games and all, save your money to put it else where.

try newegg.com, the shipping will be alot less

(is this american or canadian) i supposed this is american price

Dell should do fine, just choose their cheapest laptop and off you go, should serve you well. Have you considered buying one second hand?? Also, if you can find an old IBM Thinkpad for sale I think they'd perform the task better, I've always been impressed with them
