Windows 98

My Dell Latitude Cpi crashed and I had to replace the hard drive. The drive checks out but when I loaded Windows 98 the print is strange. The best way I can describe it is the print is not clear and some letters almost appear to be bold. I have checked the Device Manager and the video is “running properly”. I have looked every where for a check or lack of a check in a box to correct the problem.
Any ideas??

Have you installed the video driver and set the resolution to the native resolution of the laptop's LCD?

Go into Display Properties to the Settings tab and move the resolution slider to the right. Your display probably has either an 800x600 or 1024x768 native resolution; choose the one that looks the sharpest.

Thanks a lot - I should have thought of that. I put in a driver I downloaded and the problem is solved.
