Wait -- are you trying to install the OS from in Windows, or are you trying to boot from the CD and install that way. If you're not booting from the CD, try that.

no actually i have tried all means possible i tried from the windows and from start up. the thing is when i tried installing any of the OS i have, they say that i cant because i have a virus but the factory install disc says that im missing a file that wont allow the install to happen. has anyone seen anything like this? i mean i have tried to find the file but i cant figure out which one im missing. i have scanned my computer but nothing shows up. do you know where i can replace these files. also do you know where i can find cheap laptop parts too cause i need to replace the cd drive too.

Okay hold it.
Your CD-ROM isn't working right?
That may be your trouble and, given that you've only had the laptop a few months, the manufacturer replaces it under warranty.
If the optical drive is failing your in ability to reinstall is explained.
E-mail tech support.

um no that was the first error but the thing about that was that i bought a external drive converter which made it easy for fixing my problem with the cd drive some what. thats not the problem oh and i tried to contact the manufacture they said my warranty doesnt cover this kind of stuff. so yeah im looking to fix this thing so that i can at least do stuff. as i mention before, the drives in my computer seems to open search. lol i dont see how such an error can happen. i mean this thing will open search instead of the drive.

The warranty doesn't cover a broken CD drive? Unless you broke it yourself somehow, every other manufacturer's warranty would cover it. It sounds like they're giving you the runaround.

I think I've got it.
There's a file (boot partition) on the hard drive that the restore disks have to use and it isn't there anymore.
This is very odd, if you used the restore disks the first time they wouldn't have damaged that partition but if your hard drive developed a bad sector just there that's what could have done it.
I'm surprised tech support didn't mention that or perhaps you had one of those all to frequent communications mix-ups.
Try it again and tell them that the restore disk can't find the correct file on the hard drive.
Give them the exact error message you're getting, the one about the missing file, and tell them the restore disks worked once but haven't since.
Post back their reply.
