MP3. . .PSP. . .WIFI. . .Cel Phone. . .Help

Well, I'm looking for an entertainment device for travelling on business. I am thinking about an MP3 player like the Sony NWE507. It has 1Gb of memory and lots of battery life. Then I started thinking about a PSP. It would add gaming and WIFI internet to MP3's, but how can it surf the web without a keyboard of any kind. . .So here it is. . .What device can I find to do these things:

Internet browsing at WIFI hotspots and/or LAN plug in. I would like to pay bills, check forums, read yahoo, etc.

Play MP3's.

Play dowloaded movies.

Gaming like PSP.

Make phone calls from Verizon account.

I think that is about it. A calculator built in would be nice.

Any suggestions. I understand a phone built in may not be an option.

An ultraportable laptop would meet your needs perfectly.

I find my Dell does all thoes things. Got stuck at DFW airport last year for 11 hours and would have went crazy if I did not have my laptop. Most airports are wifi hot spots. I was able to surf the net while I waited for my plane.

A laptop particularly a Tablet PC might be ideal .. however if you want to follow the pocket format then there are a few concessions you need to be able to make .. for example, there is no multitasker that does gaming like a PSP. If you can live without the high calibre gaming of a PSP, then there are devices like the soon to be out Windows Mobile Treo.

the palm treo 600/650 does all of that except gaming. Its basically a pda combined with a phone. you add on your own SD memory, so theres no limit to how much you can put in (altho, 2 gb is the biggest they make right now).

it can play mp3s, and movies, its a phone, internet browser, email thingy, organizer, planner, and like a computer, you can install an endless amount of software on it, including gps.

i dont work for them or anything, i just have one and like it a lot.

The Treo 650 would work well except for the fact that you have to jump through hoops to play movies and it's not that great of a gaming platform. I do have one and I like it a lot; however, if you were going to buy a Treo I would wait until the 700w comes out in a couple of months.

Does the treo do wifi, or would I have to get the broadband service plan?

Also, I've been looking at laptops, but the battery life seems pretty dismal. If I were going to go laptop, I would need several batteries to us it for 16 -20 hours straight, wouldn't I?

The Treo doesn't have WiFi, but the 700w will support the use of an SD WiFi adaptor. You're right that no laptop offers anything close to 16-20 hours of battery life.
