one subscription for regular mp3 player and ipod
my neighbor asked me earlier today what a good legal mp3-downloading service would be for his kids/wife to use. the kids have regular mp3 players (sorry, don't know the make/model) but the wife has an ipod. is there one service that will support both of these? for simplicity, he is hoping to be able to keep it all together
thanks craig

i understand that, but the limited reading i have done talks about how DRM's will only work with specific mp3 players. for example, i know that they cannot use Rhapsody, because it only supports two types of players right now, and they cannot use itunes because it won't transfer over to the other mp3 players. walmarts download service doesn't support ipods. so, i am trying to find a download service that works with everything thanks craig |

How about Itunes? The files come in AAC format for the Ipod, but you can burn them to disc and re-rip as mp3s for the other players..

The easiest thing would probably be to buy the CDs and rip from those to MP3. Of coure, I'm of the opinion that a CD with only a couple good songs is not worth buying, so people in the "single" mentality might want to use Alaron's suggestion because they'd save money.
