Laptop lcd repair

Anyone have any experience testing the inverter circuit board used to power the backlite on a laptop display? I have a Gateway with an lcd that was not lit. Found a cracked light tube so I replaced the lcd panel. Still the same issue with the new lcd but I don't know what the voltage should be coming from the inverter card. Anyone with experience testing these critters?

I don't have much experience on the circuit board, but when ever there's a problem with the display, we just swap out the entire display panel. Plug and play- Easier and usually costs about the same amount. I never had the chance or an incident where we had to fiddle in that area. Sorry.

Just a follow up to close this out. The circuit board produces a very high frequency that standard metering won't test. An oscilliscope is necessary to properly read the output. I took a chance and ordered an inverter board and that was indeed the problem. I found the lcd screen and inverter on ebay from a company that deals with laptop parts and seems to sell a lot of Gateway parts. The company is Adeal.com. The lcd was $261 and the inverter board was $56 including shipping. New lcd's run about $400 - $450 and this one looks just like a new one. I'd certainly buy from these guys again.
