Notebook Video card question
So i have a Toshiba Laptop, and i was wondering if there was anything i could do anything to update my video card/chip
Currently i have a Geforce4 420 go with 32 MB DAC type: integrated Ramdac is there anything i can do to upgrade this to something newer so that i can play better games on this thing or should i just play pong till i get another movie |

Generally the only thing you can really upgrade on laptops is memory and harddrive and whatever you can buy for pcmcia slots. Since there are no expansion slots on a laptop and everything is pretty much integated on the mainboard there is not much you can do with them after you buy them. You may be able to do the processor on most laptops but even then they can be pretty tricky to open up and successfully get them back togother. There is usually easy access to the harddrive and memory though via little trap doors on the bottom side..

Sorry, you can practically upgrade everything on a laptop except for the video card. If you do change it out, all you can do is replace it with the same thing. Even with the modular PCI-E cards, normal logic would say it can be interchangeable, but no- the sockets are different and may not even fit properly into the chassis or intefere with neighboring components.
