Fixing a laptop's keyboard
We have a lack of computers at the office so my boss decided to take out one of his old Apple Powerbook G4 which seemed to work fine excepto for one thing. They keyboard appears to be dead. When I took the keyboard appart I noticed that the 2 connectors were diconnected. Someone who worked here when that laptop was used told me that the laptop was hit once and the keyboard fell off. However, this wasn't the reason why the laptop was "stored".
Anyway, I plugged both connectos back on but nothing happened. One of the connectors is always loose. I tried to thicken the strip so it could make good contact but nothing. In fact, sometimes when both conectors are plugged the laptop doesn't start up at all. I'm at a loss because the keyboard seems to be fine and we could really use the laptop at the office. Any suggestions? |
