Hi,
I have a quandry the my tech guy is stumped on and was wondering if anyone might have any thoughts. I have a Dell Latitude D505 Laptop. Yesterday when I had it plugged in with the AC Adaptor when it suddenly switched from using the AC Adaptor to working off the battery. Now my power cord has always been a little glitchy so I turned around a few mintues later and gave it a good shake. That's when I noticed that the green light on the cord was still on, so it was receiving power but yet my computer was working on battery. Well the battery finally wore down and my computer shut off. I firgued it was a problem with the power cord so I went out a bought a new one, an exact duplicate, and the same thing, the green light on the cord is on but the computer will not turn on at all. Now we've tried everything, diffferent outlets, taking the batteries out, trying a different battery. My tech guy has even taken the computer apart and saw no visible signs of damage, he even tested it with a voltage meter and said that electricity was actually going through the computer at the correct voltage and getting to the battery, however, the batteries won't charge and computer will not turn on at all, and the light that shows it's plug in, does not come on. He if tested different parts of the motherboard to make sure they were receiving electricity and they were working fine, but yet the laptop sits silent. Any suggests at all? |

the power and voltage may be there but that don't mean that it is delivering power to the computer, as everything normal has been tested, a call to dell tech support might be in order, is it under warranty ?
