We need to back up a bit - is this a Verizon phone? If so, they have crippled it and you can't transfer ringtones to the phone locally, you have to buy them from Verizon with the phone.
http://www.mobiledia.com/reviews/mot...815/page1.html Otherwise, you can just get a Bluetooth adapter for your PC and use Motorola Phone Tools to do all kinds of things. There MAY be a way around the cripple, or maybe Verizon has backed off - you maybe should talk to the guys at your local cellular store. |

Don't expect Verizon employees to help you one iota if it's anything they might have to actually think about. I hate Verizon.

Oh.. shoot sorry about that I didn't elaborate. I was talking about T mobile and Cingular phones..
Mine is a RAZR from Tmobile. *phone tools comes with software to edit your ringtones so that shouldn't be something to worry about. |

Yeah, My Cingular Razr works fine with Phonetools and Bluetooth. I just can't unlock it though. My local Cingular store is very helpful - they are an independent business that's been there for years. The owner knows his stuff and is happy to share his knowledge. I'll spend extra and buy stuff from them instead of chasing deals - it works out in the long run.

I think unlocking the phone can be done via a phone call to Cingular. With T Mobile I unlocked 2 phones because I was going overseas for school, they sent an email which had an "unlock code" and steps to do so... so maybe try giving the customer service a ring and see what they say.

They won't want to do that - because that way they can make me buy an international roaming package. I can buy an unlocker on the Internet, but I hear that a Razr is difficult to do right. I'm not gonna worry about it until (if) I go overseas or want to change carriers.

Check with a knowledgeable Verizon store before you cuss them out too bad - they may have changed since that review was written.

I am new the 'phone upgrading' methods. What is a BlueTooth device that use for cell phone? Hyperlink if possible.
I have a Motorola i830 cellphone, how will that hook up to the BlueTooth? |

That phone isn't compatiable with BlueTooth technology (wireless). You may however try a USB connection and phone tools, but I'm not sure if it'll work ,you can give it a try though. Software is 50 dollars through Motorola and should be able to use any usb cable that has a connector at an end that connects to your phone.

Look At this link
http://www.susteen.com/
this is by DataPilot. Supposed to work pretty good with several phones. I haven't tried it yet, but have heard good things. I have a Nextel and a Verizon phone. The nextel is soooo easy to create ringtones and wallpaper for and to load. Verizon not so easy. |
