inel coreduo RAM Shared question
On Dells site the new laptops with dual core processors have RAM listed as:
1G Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHz This has nothing to do with video...GeForce 7800 video card is in the one I want to get. Can someone explain what shared RAM is? Sony and HP laptops do not have it listed that way and they have integrated graphics. Dell Desktops dont either. thanks |

Shared RAM actually is for integrated graphics. It's listed that way on the Dell site because the low-end Inspiron 9400/E1705 configurations do have integrated graphics (GMA950). Even though you are getting the GeForce Go 7800, which doesn't use shared memory, it stays listed that way on the Dell site.
