HP Laptop HD upgrade
I have an HP XH535. 20gb hard drive is giving up the ghost. Somedays it works others well...
So I purchased a 40gb Hitachi Travelstar. Got everything copied over and all is working, except... The hard drive activity light on the HP won't turn off. A few seconds after the power is on, so is it. If I put in another drive, I have a Toshiba 20gb, it works correctly. I have checked the BIOS. 1.04. That is the latest I could find on the HP site. I ran the Hitachi Drive Fitness Test software with no errors. Is there anything I can do to get the light to turn off? |

How many gigabytes is the drive showing in Disk Management or My Computer?

I believe it was showing the full capacity(like 38gb).
