Best laptop (or specs) for multimedia use and lite photo and video editing
So, I'm looking to get a laptop for myself. Primarily, it will be used for multimedia functions (movies, music, some lite gaming) when I travel, internet use, PowerPoint and some other work use (word processing). However, I would like for it to have the capability to do some photo and video editing, as I spend a lot of time with my son and my parents, and would like to be able to process things quickly instead of bringing everything back home with me, where I most undoubtedly will forget about it for several weeks. Any recommendations? I was just browsing at Best Buy the other night, and the only thing I walked away with was a recommendation for an AMD 64 Turion processor and ATI graphics chip. And at least 1GB of RAM, but I already knew that.
Thanks. |

Look at the Dell Inspiron 6400 on their small business site.

A Turion will provide lower battery life than a Pentium-M, and not much better performance. On top of that, the new Core Duo processor form Intel is dual-core and thus will be good for multitasking; the Turion is not available in a dual-core version yet.
