Looking for a handheld - Palm TX
I am starting school in May and I am looking for a handheld to store all my reference materials in for clinicals. I have read good things about the Palm TX and I was wondering if anyone had anything good or bad to say about it.

I have had a good deal of experience with Palm PDAs and I generally like them. I don't think I've seen a TX, but I doubt that they would be poorer than any of the other models I have seen.
Is this medicine-related? From speaking with a few doctors I know that there are programs available for putting drug reference books and other information on PDAs; if so, then just make sure that you get something that is compatible with the software you want. Palms run the Palm OS, as opposed to Pocket PC-like devices which run a version of Windows. |

the TX is definatetly a good option but it depends on what you need i have a Zire 31 that is great for mobile apps and scheduling, the TX will be a fast machine(faster than half my computers) and will also have bluetooth and WiFi, niether of which i needed so i went w/ the Zire but if they are things you need and are willing to shell out the money for them go right ahead and get the TX

I went to Staples today to look at one and I asked them to take it out of the case so I could look at it and get a feel for the size of it and they wouldn't do it. So I told them that I'll buy it elsewhere and left. |

I would definately recommend the TX for you then since it has what you need already built in, as for the weight and size a close estimate is a smushed iPod, its not quite as thick but it is wider, unless you have very small hands then it will fit very nicely but not feel like your about to drop it. i found it very hard while i was shopping for a PDA to find one that i could actually hold and see how it felt so just keep searching and eventually someone will want your buisiness enough to let you take it for a spin first.

I've been looking into the TX myself. If you get it, and like it, post back - I'd love to hear your opinion on it.
Good decision leaving and telling them you'd buy it elsewhere - I don't see why they wouldn't have let you just hold it - you are the customer. Like mentioned above, Palm is a great company, and their products are reliable. I would highly recommend them.

Can anyone tell me how I can get a full screen to view motion pictures on my TX? As of now it only shows a 3x3" screen in the centre.
Thank you in advance. |

Download The Core Pocket Media Player.
It'll play most video formats, especially DivX, and you can set it to occupy the full screen.
