Black Borders around 1024x768

Whenever I set my mom's Dell Inspiron 8200 monitor resolution to 1024x768, I get an error stating that the screen should be in 1600x1200.
The image is also shrunken (so the text is still tiny), leaving lots of black space around the sides. See a picture here.

I could set it to 1600x1200, but my parents find it hard to read web pages/email at that resolution...

Anybody have suggestions?

Hi,

you need to enable the option to upscale lower resolutions to fill the entire screen.

You do that in the settings of the graphics driver or with a key combination .. I'm not familiar with the Inspiron 8200 but it's gotta be one of the two possibilities.

Thanks RJ, the combination for the 8200 is "Fn + F7".

Looks much better now!
