HDD not found in laptop
working on my laptop (compaq evo n1020v) restarted it after installing some software and now when it loads it read operating systm not found. the bios doesn't show a hard drive at all, using windows disc (xp pro) tried to do a recovery and it says there isn't a hdd installed. bad drive all the sudden? time for a new one? any help appreciated

What was the software you installed?
Does the Harddrive show up in the BIOS?
