need help choosing a laptop

hey everyone,
My old dell inspiron 4000 laptop broke today, and my mom offered to buy me a new laptop as a delayed birthday present. WOW! she said try to keep it under $1500 and it has to be ACER because my dad gets a discount on them. i would like to keep it under $1400 just to be nice, and i want it to be able to play battlefield 2 and call of duty 2. it will also be used for photos and watching movies, and my music will be stored on it. dual core would be nice but not necessary. anybody have any suggestions?

How big a discount does your dad get? The TravelMate 8204 is nice and very powerful, but also expensive. The TravelMate 4674 is also good and probably within your price range with the discount, but only has a Mobility Radeon X1400, while the 8204 has an X1600.
