Why low power warning at 30% ?

The battery indicator on a NEC Versa E600 when it drops to around 30% will suddenly give a warning message that battery power is low and I should switch over to AC power. The battery warning indicator is set to 10% and 5% (to go into standby).

Does this means the battery is failing ? The battery is around 2 years old and hardly used in battery mode.

that may be a set point in the system that I don't think you can change.
setting the set point as low as you said, the system would have already crashed before it got there.
and it would be something to think about, 2 years on a battery that has a set number of cycles would be getting close to the replacement time.

Try running about 3 full charge and discharge cycles on the battery.
