Laptop and WoW
Hey everyone,
So I own a laptop, Dell Inspiron 700m, Pentium M 1.8ghz, 1g of ram and Intel extreme graphics II 64 mb graphics card. I also play World of Warcraft, well sort of. For the most part everything is smooth but after a little bit of playing, my computer really starts to turn sluggish. I believe there is a correlation between my sluggish play and heat, which would make sense. Now, A few days ago, I was playing and talking with my friends on Ventrillo, for those of you who don’t know it’s a program that allows you to speak to others over the internet. Anyways, the interesting part came when I would start to slow down and my frames per second would drop to 1-3. They could hear something inside my computer slow down, similar to a plane turning off its engines. Then as my computer would start to play in its usual good manor, they would hear something speed up, like a plane engine starting up. It was pretty amusing really. So, we got to thinking it might be related my hard drive and that’s what they were hearing slowing down and speeding up. Has anyone had any experience with a similar problem? If it is a heat related issue, would be it possible to purchase notebook cooling device, similar to these:

I do play on the lowest possible settings as far as graphics go. Thanks for the input.
