Alienware and many other companies just released SLI laptops today.

I just don't see what the deal is with these things. If you 'really' need a transportable gaming box, build a shuttle. If you want a lap warmer, buy an electric blanket. Maybe someone else gets it...

There have been other SLI laptops on the market already, but these have a couple of advantages:
  • They're cheaper than the ones from some of the other boutique manufacturers.
  • They feature the 7900GTX instead of the 7800GTX.
  • There's a 17" model... I've never used a 19" laptop but my 17" Dell Inspiron XPS Gen 2 was already pretty big. The 19" one would have to be huge.

And their advantage is that they're self-contained. You don't have to carry an LCD with you, or a keyboard, or a mouse. (Well, a mouse would be useful.)
