Hey, I know that I could go post this on a PSP forum somewhere but the caliber of super geniuses is way better here at the 'Mech.
I just got a Sony PSP and I'm psyched to put personal photos and videos on it. I have successfully loaded photos onto it by hooking up the PSP to my PC via a USB cable and navigating to a 'PHOTO' folder found on the freshly formatted memory stick/drive. When I access the PSP/memory stick, I see folders labeled 'PHOTO', 'MUSIC', 'GAMES', 'COMMON', etc. But there is no 'VIDEO' folder, so where the heck do I put the video files? I'm totally aware that the PSP can only play MPEG-4 videos at a maximum 768kbps. I have a bunch of movie trailer videos that I converted to MPEG-4 "PSP memory stick compatible format" using Nero 6 Ultra Edition and I can't get them to play. Like I said, there is no 'VIDEO' folder to put them in and I've tried putting them in the other folders but it doesn't seem to work. Can anyone help? I'm dying to see how these videos look on the PSP. THANKS!

Have you checked the directions for transfering the video file here: http://www.engadget.com/2004/12/21/h...tion-portable/

I managed to get it to work. All video files must go in the 100MNV01 folder (which is found in the MP_ROOT folder) and not only do you need the MPEG-4 file on the memory stick but you also need another .THM file to go with it that I wasn't including. So you need two files on the memory stick for each video. I wasn't adding them when I was trying to simply drag and drop the MPEGs into the stick but when I used Nero to recode videos directly onto the PSP, it included those files for me. This PSP is really awesome. It does everything a video iPod does with a bigger screen plus plays really great games. It just isn't as easy to use and doesn't have a massive HDD. I love this thing.
