My brother-in-law wants to sell me his old Dell Latitude CS 400XT laptop...it's in good shape. The specs: Pentium II processor, 4g HD, 128 ram, Windows 98. I'm no computer whiz, by any stretch, and I'm wondering if the $100. dollars he wants for it is too much. If I bought it, could I upgrade it to Windows XP? Is the RAM upgradeable? It would also need a wireless card. I like it because it's small and lightweight. I'm a home user; no gamer, but would use it primarily for photo's and internet. Is it worth it? or would I be better off buying an inexpensive new laptop. Could really use some advice , thanks.

You would be much better off buying a new one. The ram can be upgraded but the hard drive is way too small for XP. To upgrade that thing for XP and put a wireless card in would cost you around $300, add the $100 purchase price to that and you have a $400 laptop. NEW laptops with wireless start at $500 after rebates.
