i have a IC powwer laptop, bought from wal mart . turn it on ran for about 20 min. and cut off has not started back. i dont know what to do. fan does not run either. warranty has expired.

Remove the battery and try it again. A shorted battery can cause this.

thank you GLC, but now it is on and it is acting very strange and slow, i put a virus protection on it , that may have been the problem. also i can leave it idle for a few minutes and the screen will go blank , i have to push the sart button to get the screen to show and it takes me back to the log on screen. do you kinow what the problem could be, it has done this since i bought it.

i have removed the virus remover software, the screen will get dim then light up, get dim then light up over and over again. also when it starts up it makes a cranky sound and when i go to my programs the are flashing . something has gone worng.

cut laptop off, the screen came up saying" we apologize for the inconvenience, but windows did not start successfully. A recent hardware or software change might have caused this. to start in safe mode or last known good configuration. and to use up and down arrow keys to move the highlight to your choice. system frozen, have tried several times to restart system , not working
