Laptop Harddrive???
ello, I work on pc's in my community to earn some money......well i cam across this persons laptop that wouldnt start the bios would load then when it was loading xp it would just freeze and crash.....so it wouldnt start for me the first day then i gave up for about two days and came back to it and it started and was working fine and as i when i was installing some printer drivers i got the BSOD (blue screen of death) and it shut down and wouldnt start up again.....So then i start it back up and my music was off at the time and i here the hard drive clicking and I'm like ***?!!? so i move it until i dont here it clicking which is by propping the back left corner of it with a small cd spindle....i turn on the computer again and it begins to work fine after about an hour i take it off the spindle and it continues to run then about 2 hours after that.......it stops
.......so i start it back up with the spindle underneath the back left corner and it begins to work again....is this the hard drive?? can it be fixed??? the guy said it could of fell from the seat of his car????? once propped up for about 1 hour it will run again for a decent amount of time..........is this worht replacing??? or stick it out until a new computer???? its a budget dell laptop i hope that is enough info

It's probably the hard drive and it can be replaced. Run the Dell diagnostics. Press F12 on bootup and choose Diagnostics from the boot menu, or boot with the Dell Resource CD that came with the laptop.
